Phase II
Phase II is the program implementation stage. Once the wards are
completely built and
stocked, and Agule has been promoted from the
rank of clinic to that of hospital, the vision for community
outreach and community involvement can be realized.
This phase includes the implementation of programs that will
provide basic health education; HIV/AIDS testing, treating and
counseling; hygiene and sanitation programs; and family planning
initiatives (for a full list, see that handy 18-page document we
mentioned earlier).
It also includes the creation and utilization of a health
insurance scheme designed to benefit the townspeople, and a taxi
service provided by the clinic as a means for generating some of the
revenue necessary to become self-sustaining.
